Ceramics for Everyday

Spark Pottery

Hello there! I'm Stephanie - ceramic artist and maker at Spark Pottery. Welcome and thanks for visiting my virtual space.

Every piece I create is handcrafted and unique. My focus is on producing practical work, with simple aesthetics, inspired by the natural world. I often use resist techniques to highlight the beauty of the stoneware clay. Food-safe glazes are made and used on every piece.

About...

I create original wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery and my work is consistently being influenced by the natural landscapes of my home in the Madawaska Valley. I love working with my hands and using a combination of time honoured and modern techniques to create functional pieces for kitchen and home - elevating the everyday.

I discovered the joy of making pottery when I took my first class at Haliburton School of Art + Design and later earned my Ceramics Certificate at there. I've have had the privilege of working as an alumni artist in residence and instructor at Haliburton School of Art + Design and I enjoy the daily rhythms and challenges of studio life.
